Less is more when it comes to sales
Less is more when it comes to sales
When it comes to sales there are so many different ways of doing it, which is good. But I do think there is always one thing in common and that is "less is more".
Start writing your 30 second sales pitch, read it again and delete sentences. Read it again and delete words. Read it again and delete more words. Sooner or later you will end up with a 5-10 word sentence that will do the trick. If you then try to add one more word you will see how the whole pitch go from success to failure.
Open Power Point, or even better Prezi, and create your presentation. Then go through it again and delete a few pages. Do this at least five times and please delete a page every time. Once you done that you read through all the pages again and you start to delete text, first sentences and then words. Sooner or later you will end up with a 1-5 page presentation containing no sentences but a cool (if you use Prezi) presentation that blows people away.
Collect all the marketing material you want to bring with you to the sales meeting and give to the client. Once you are sure you have collected everything you need then you throw it away. If you don't do it, the client will.
So back to the beginning, when it comes to sales then "less is more". Make the most of your five minutes and spend the rest of the 55 minutes doing what the client wants the most, to talk and for you to listen.
